No Bid Required

  • Nov 21, 2023

The New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law typically requires NJ government "contracting units" to publicly advertise for bids for contracts greater than a certain dollar amount. However, as noted in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5 (the Local Public Contracts Law), any contract the amount of which exceeds the bid threshold may be negotiated and awarded by the governing body to Jersey Cape Tags without public advertising for bids and bidding because Jersey Cape Tags is considered a sheltered workshop where work is done by handicapped persons.

As an employment training center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the production of our products and the work done through our services provides an additional work training environment that mirrors the career opportunities of our community and serves as an intermediate step towards helping our clients secure their ideal employment outcomes.
